Claudia Restrepo
assistant principal librarian
Librarian Claudia Restrepo joined the New York Philharmonic in 2024. She came to NY from salt Lake city after a three-year tenure as librarian of the Utah Symphony|Utah Opera. She also worked for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Library from 2019-21. Prior to joining the DSO, she was the Library Fellow for the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, where she was mentored by the librarians of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Claudia has served as the Head Librarian for the Aspen Music Festival and also worked for the National Symphony Orchestra assisting with music preparation for performances at Wolf Trap and the nationally televised concert “A Capitol Fourth.” In 2017 Claudia was a Library Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center where she worked with the Boston Symphony Orchestra librarians.
Additionally, Claudia also serves as the Principal Librarian for SPHINX, a social justice organization dedicated to transforming lives through the power of diversity in the arts. Claudia holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Utah and a Masters of Music in Conducting from the University of Northern Iowa. Born in Colombia, she started her musical studies as a student of the oboe.
