吴聪，纽约爱乐乐团助理首席，第14届普林姆罗斯中提琴比赛第三名和最佳室内乐作品演奏奖,以及第12届英国特蒂斯中提琴比赛特别奖获得者。4岁起随父吴兴利学琴，2006年以专业第一名的成绩考入中央音乐学院，师从于著名中提琴演奏家、教育家何荣教授。毕业后先后以全额奖学金获考入茱莉亚音乐学院和曼哈顿音乐学院，取得硕士和博士学位。老师包括Heidi Castleman， 黄心芸，Patinka Kopec，和Pinchas Zukerman。
吴聪的演出足迹遍布北美和欧洲，并先后担任中国青年交响乐团，茱莉亚音乐学院交响乐团和德国Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra中提琴首席，合作过的指挥包括James Levine, Christoph Eschenbach, John Adams等。热衷于重奏演奏，参加了众多包括万宝路音乐节和纽约林肯中心室内乐协会的演出。与之合作的艺术家包括Shmuel Ashkenasi, Christoph Eschenbach, David Finckel, Paul Katz, Itzhak Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman, 内田光子等。 吴聪先后担任Music@Menlo冬季驻节音乐家，帕尔曼音乐营特邀艺术家，加拿大国家艺术中心音乐节教师。
Cong Wu joined the New York Philharmonic as Assistant Principal Viola, The Norma and Lloyd Chazen Chair, in September 2018. Winner of the Third Prize and the Chamber Music Prize in the Fourteenth Primrose International Viola Competition, and the Special Prize in the Twelfth Tertis International Viola Competition, he has performed throughout North America and Asia, including solo appearances with the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, Macau Youth Orchestra, and New York Classical Players.
An avid chamber musician, Mr. Wu has performed at various festivals, including the Marlboro Music Festival, The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s Chamber Music Encounters, Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival, Music@Menlo, Perlman Music Program, Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival, and Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany. He also regularly appears with the Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players, East Coast Chamber Orchestra, and New York Classical Players.
Born in Jinan, China, Cong Wu (Cong pronounces as Ts’ong) holds a Master’s degree from The Juilliard School and a Doctoral degree from the Manhattan School of Music. His teachers include Wing Ho, Heidi Castleman, Hsin-Yun Huang, Patinka Kopec, and Pinchas Zukerman. Cong is a loyal fan of the Manchester United and the New York Yankees.
