Sofia Basile

Sofia Basile joined the New York Philharmonic’s viola section in September 2023, having previously been a member of the Colorado Symphony. Originally from Massachusetts, Sofia’s love of music grew from punk, namely the NYC scene in the 1970s. In her free time she enjoys reading, spending time with her two cats, learning about fungi and hunting for the perfect thrift find or antique.
